“You can begin in your own cupboard by eliminating processed food, trying to cook a meal a little more often, trying to incorporate more fruits and vegetables.” – Michelle Obama

These are the words that she told the Press on the first day of spring by breaking the ground at the White House with a shovel.  They planned to plant everything that was needed in the kitchen from herbs, fruits and vegetable plants.

I rarely follow world news or understand the wacky world of politics but this statement coming from American’s First Lady, Michelle Obama is  POWERFUL!

Coming to my own garden, even though I did not own a plot, I managed to plant a number of herbs in pots.  Let me see what are those.  I have  basil, chives, lime, oregano, screwpine, roselle and a few type of chinese herb for boiling barley.  And of course, all of them are organic and the fertilizer that I use are decomposed vegetable or fruit’s skin from my own kitchen.

1) I started going for vacation when I turned 21 years old and never did once, I was down with food poisoning.  And finally, I got that while vacationing in Beijing.

One week after coming home from Beijing,

2) My smart tag and touch ‘n go card was stolen from my car.  I think I forgot to lock the door.

Two weeks after the stolen smart tag,

3) Our car out of the blue lost control and bang the highway steel divider.  Thanks God all of us are safe.

SIL ask me to cook mee suah & eggs for the whole family to eat.  I cooked ang chiew mee suah *slurp* minus the egg.  Last weekend I went back to my Mom’s.  She wanted to cook red eggs for us but don’t have time to do that.  So she gave me fresh eggs and a red paper.

Anddddddddddddd on Monday,

4) The daycare called and said Prince had Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD).

5) At night when I hang my laundry, I noticed that my bicycle was stolen!

And you think that is all? No.

On Tuesday,

6) The kindie cum daycare  called at 12pm to inform that the Kementerian Kesihatan instructed them to close the kindie for  a week.  Looks like my son is the 7th person down with HFMD in the school.  Good thing my Mom graduate from nursing vocational colleges as she is able to advise me on HFMD.

Can you believe this?  6 (666) bad luck happening to us!  I cannot imagine what will happen next.  And with the closure of the kindie cum daycare, I have to look after the kids for a week.  Meaning I am not working for the whole 7 days!  OMG!

I’ve tried one session of traditional yoga that was conducted in an air-conditioning room.  I do feel weird about it as I hardly perspire at all.  As what I am aware of, most yoga outlet doesn’t equip their room with an air-contidioning.  The most they have is a rotating fan.  Does anyone know what is the actual norm for a yoga room?  I am in the midst of converting one of my room into a yoga room.  But the room has only air-con in it.  If air-con is a no-no, I have to quickly think of the alternative, i.e. to grab the discount ceiling fans that is on sale right now.

During my 5 years stay in U.S. I used to renew my auto insurance in Georgia as they are the most reliable, efficient and was fully electronic meaning all I have to do is renew my auto insurance online.  It is not necessary to wait for the paper to be send before you could renew your road tax.  From last year onwards, I can see that Malaysia has started to adopt the same process.   Isn’t that a bliss?

Sharing a little experience I get from my recent trip or shall I say, my first time seeing the frozen river. Was walking at the Outer Banks and when I look into the river, my expression was wow! Can even skates on it but then the ice is still quite woobly and if anyone falls in the river, *brrrrrrr!*

Some guys was seen throwing bottle on the ice to see if they will break.  These are the moronic people.   So my next wish is to walk on a frozen river?

The temperature was around 2C when I was at The Great Wall of China.  The occasional wind does not do any justice at all.  We was freezing!  So I thought Warrior pose should be the most suitable of all.  Trying the tough one – Warrior 3.

The jean, the jacket, the boots and the wind makes me impossible to balance at all.  That was a quick 3 seconds before I lost my balance.  What the heck, so I retook another shot of Warrior 2.

It was a bliss.  Note to self:  Next time no need show off, ok.

Next trip coming up would be Orlando vacations sometime in September.  A yogini friend of mine commented that I was always out of town.  Well, travelling is the best medicine for releasing stress.  Learn yoga also stress!  *slap forehead*

Hot Yoga is also known as Bikram Yoga in Sanskrit. Ideally, the room was heated to 40°C  with a humidity of 40%.  A vigorous yoga session at this temperature promotes profuse sweating which believe will help you to lose weight, get rids the body of toxins and also makes the body very warm and therefore more flexible.   But sad to say, my facial skin can’t afford to loose all it’s moisture as they get hydrated very fast.  No amount of serum moisturizer can help unless I go for treatment like oxyen mask or microdermabrasion.  I would say, Hot Yoga is not for everyone especially if you have problematic skin like me.

Hubby and me is not that type who celebrate Valentine’s. Well, we do buy each other gift (sometimes) but not on purpose. For example one of the year (as how I remembered), he ran out of cologne. I simply grab one Bruts Cologne from the pharmacy and wrapped them up or sometimes when he is out of socks or boxer, that sort of things. Nothing expensive like a diamond ring or Tag Heuer watch. And pardon me, in our 12 years of marriage, he never get me a single stalk of rose during Valentine’s. Yet, we still live happily ever after.

This year, Valentine’s Day was like usual. He was golfing in the morning and took over the kids when I went for my Yoga in the afternoon.

.

.

This caught me by surprise. As I was leaving after the class, we was each given 2 pieces of Hershey’s kisses by the front desk. Awww….. isn’t that sweet. We work so hard trying to shed some pound and there they are adding back all the pounds.

I was just kidding. LOL. That two Kisses really makes my day. I’ve never felt happier like I was given 2 pieces of the best weight loss pill. I went home and presented it to Hubby and wish him a Happy Valentine’s Day. He was caught by surprise too and ask, “What do you feel like having for dinner?”

Muahahahaaaaa. Woman are evil by nature. Don’t tell me I never warned you.

I was told by a number of people that the old premise of Yoga Zone Klang has taken over by Zen. And I go, “Who is Zen?”

“The Poster Girl with that cute teddies print bandana on the head la.”

I see!

Looks like by 1st March, the faded poster is going to make way for a new one. Even the sky is more blue than any part of the poster. Hope this piece of news can materialized as I have been praying for a new owner to take over and am really looking forward to continue my practice there.

p/s: No further question as this is all I was told.

This electronics mail (e-mail) was forwarded to me by my 21y/o niece who’s parents is converted Christian. In the past, we end up once in heated debate about Yoga practise. I’m surprised she is still trying to proof to me that Yoga is somewhat evil. Have a read:

HI friends,
On Wednesday, I attended a talk by an ex-yoga teacher, Mdm Poh Shon Choy, who sold her yoga centre (earning lots of money giving yoga lessons) and severed all ties with yoga. She urges us to inform relatives, friends, Family members, etc., NOT to get involved at all. Many claimed that they only join to keep fit, only doing the exercise poses and not meditation. Christians think it is ok so long they don’t participate in the Meditation part. Mdm Choy explains that the central of Yoga (originated from Hinduism) is the spirit of Kundalini (spirit Of snake or cobra). Yoga poses are actually animal poses (e.g. camel, rabbit,). All these look very normal and harmless, stretching and exercising. But the danger is, once a person does such poses, the spirit of Kundalini (the snake is in a coiled position) is stimulated or aroused. As the persons goes from basic to intermediate to advance stage of yoga lessons (still not meditation yet), the coiled will be aroused further. It will rise and rise further. There are 7 centres in the human body – starting from the navel. The final centre is the part between the eye brows (known to many as the third eye). When the spirit is aroused to the final centre, the third eye will be opened. This is called the full enlightenment. The first thing the person sees is demons. For some, they will become insane seeing such horrifying demons. For others, they are not afraid – And will have the power to fore-tell other people’s health, problems, luck, etc (like a fortune teller). In fact, they manipulate and control other people. The meditation part will come in very subtle. Mdm Choy said she was approached by a couple who found her contact from the yellow pages and told her they wanted to teach her new things about yoga. She was very keen and sat under their teaching. She learnt how to meditate and it must be done in odd hours of the day (past midnight).
(YogaJess said: Dah kena ajaran sesat la tu.) So she tried. She actually felt a wriggling feeling in her stomach! She also mentioned that her third eye was opened. She could see her own aura (electric fields in all human beings). Her turning point came when God caused her spiritual eyes to open – she witnessed a lady being delivered, wriggling Like a snake on the floor.. Mdm Choy thanked God for being gracious to her, she took 1-2 weeks to bedelivered. She knows of a lady who took 3 months to be cleansed!! It is a sad thing, there is even yoga lessons for children. In the States, a Methodist started the Christian yoga. However, there are some believers who still continue, saying that they find no harm after doing yoga for 3 years. Mdm Choy says it is our soul that is in danger. The evil one will try all ways to ensnare/trap Christians. Someone in the class raised a question – if we have The Holy Spirit, how can the spirit of kundalini be aroused? Mdm Choy replied our God is a holy God, the Holy Spirit will be grieved and will depart. God cannot be mocked. God’s spirit left King Saul when he disobeyed God. To God, rebellion spirit is witchcraft. We are not against yoga teachers, yoga students but we are fighting against powers, principalities in the Spiritual realm. Let’s be on guard, be aware!

I’ve only got one thing to say after reading the above, IT’LL BE DEM COOL TO SEE OTHER PEOPLE’S AURA WITH MY THIRD EYE!”. You know, the thing about internet, anyone can just make up anything and forward them in e-mails. Hey, let’s make up another story and forward them too. DUH!

I managed to Google more on Mdm Choy the author of “In the Nude ~ Confessions of an ex-Yoga Teacher” . She was born and brought up in Ipoh, Malaysia, some fifty-six years ago, she is the youngest of nine children. At the age of three, she lost her father to cancer. Not having the financial means to do a tertiary education, she opted for a nursing course in England after her Cambridge ‘O’ level exams. She is married with two teenage daughters and continues to run the business of providing nursing services to hospitals, clinics, research centres and homes. She worships at Wesley Methodist Church and also serves as an altar counsellor. She is now invited to give testimony in various churches. Don’t play-play.
